Relativistic Explosions

GRBs and LFBOTs are a timing problem first and a spectroscopy problem second. The instrument has to be there, configured, and efficient before the target fades through the floor.

Suggested seed figure: early-time GRB afterglow or AT2018cow-like spectral evolution.

Why ZShooter

  • Rapid ToO execution is part of the science case.

  • Broad SED coverage keeps extinction, redshift, and continuum shape in one exposure.

  • Imaging fallback still matters for the faint or already-faded end of the sample.

Current design pressure

This page keeps pressure on the fastest response mode and on ruthless overhead control.

Build-out notes

  • Decide how much of the GRB vs. LFBOT split should be explicit here versus deferred to later pages.
